Ms. Sims has worked on antitrust, consumer protection and telecommunications litigation throughout the course of her decade-long career, and currently focuses her practice on antitrust litigation. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in federal litigation and before state agencies, as well as co-authoring an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Sims has special experience representing retailers in complex antitrust litigation.
Ms. Sims is the recipient of the American Antitrust Institute’s Outstanding Litigation Achievement by a Junior Lawyer Award (2017) for her work in the Automotive Parts Antitrust Litigation, 12-md-02311, where she has recovered $400 million in damages, thus far, for automobile dealerships in thirty jurisdictions. The Automotive Parts Antitrust Litigation involved two decades of conduct, seventy defendant families and forty-two automotive parts (and sub-cases). Ms. Sims was the lead attorney in the Automotive Parts Antitrust Litigation, on day-to-day discovery and dispositive issues, which she successfully argued to the Master and the Court, winning the majority of contested motions.
Ms. Sims has authored the following publications:
- Co-author of Running Up Against the Illinois Brick Wall, Class Action Monthly (2020)
- Co-author of Remediation and Deterrence: The Real Requirements of the Vindication Doctrine (2013) (George Washington Law Review).
- Co-author of Proposals for Reform in Private Enforcement of the Antitrust Law in the United States (edited by Albert A. Foer and Randy M. Stutz) (2012).
Ms. Sims is actively pursuing claims on behalf of pharmacists against generic drug manufacturers in the Generic Pharmaceuticals Pricing Antitrust Litigation.
Ms. Sims is Co-Lead Counsel for retailers and other resellers of hard disk drive suspension assemblies, in the Hard Disk Drive Suspension Assemblies Antitrust Litigation.
Ms. Sims is also Co-Lead Counsel for All Star Cheer gyms in Fusion Elite All Stars et al. v. Varsity Brands, LLC et al.
Before coming to CGL, Ms. Sims worked at a Washington, DC firm primarily representing defendants in telecommunications litigation.
