DANIEL M. COHEN has been working with the firm and its predecessor firms (including the Cuneo Law Group, PC) since 1999. Mr. Cohen concentrates his practice on class actions and complex litigation involving antitrust and consumer protection issues. Mr. Cohen successfully represented hundreds of life insurance policyholders who chose to participate in an alternative dispute resolution process when resolving their rights in an insurance matter.

Mr. Cohen was one of the lead attorneys in an indirect purchaser lawsuit alleging that U.S. Smokeless Tobacco monopolized the moist snuff market and engaged in restrictive and exclusionary acts in violation of state antitrust laws. Intense litigation in several state courts produced a settlement worth $34 million.

Mr. Cohen successfully argued in the Arizona Supreme Court that indirect purchasers had standing to bring lawsuits in Arizona.  Bunker’s Glass Co. v. Pilington PLC, 2006 Ariz. 9 (2003)

As a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of West Virginia, Mr. Cohen won a $16.2 million settlement against Visa and MasterCard which funded several sales tax holidays for West Virginia consumers.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Cohen was an Assistant Public Defender for the Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit, serving Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida.

Mr. Cohen represented hundreds of clients during his time as a Public Defender, some in capital felony cases. He conducted 70 jury trials that resulted in verdicts.
