CHRISTIAN HUDSON joined Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca’s Brooklyn Office in 2018. His practice focuses on antitrust and consumer protection, with a particular focus on pharmaceuticals. Mr. Hudson has particular experience in electronic discovery and information law, and has managed electronic discovery for matters that have received heightened national and international press coverage.
Prior to joining CGL, Mr. Hudson began his legal career as a litigator at a prominent national law firm in New York. While there he represented state and federal government offices and agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and High Net Worth Individuals, while also developing a strong pro bono practice assisting major public universities, theatrical organizations, LGBT individuals, and asylum applicants.
Some of Mr. Hudson’s past and current work includes:
- Leading the firm’s efforts in a major consumer protection case alleging that a large pharmaceutical company’s HIV antiviral drugs cause catastrophic damage to users’ kidneys and/or bones, including kidney disease, bone necrosis, and other ailments. The company developed an identically-effective drug that did not have these side effects at the same time, but pushed its more damaging drug to the market in order to maximize profits at the expense of the health of many marginalized people.
- Representing independent pharmacies and hospitals alleging that pharmaceutical corporations conspired to fix the prices of over two hundred generic drugs (often tripling or quadrupling the pre-collusion prices). The firm’s investigation uncovered evidence that major drug distributors joined this industry-wide scheme to increase prices and limit competition to keep prices elevated.
- Representing commercial food preparer purchasers in a lawsuit alleging the existence of a price-fixing conspiracy to artificially inflate prices for packaged tuna products.
- Representing borrowers charged excessive interest rates on consumer debt, in abrogation of state usury laws.
- Representing the Office of the Governor of New Jersey in response to the “Bridgegate” allegations concerning the realignment of traffic lanes on the George Washington Bridge. Mr. Hudson assisted in investigating allegations and led the team responsible for the processing, review, and production of millions of pages of documents in response to multiple subpoenas and legal actions. (Prior firm)
- Representing a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators and Representatives as amicus curiae before the U.S. Supreme Court in M.B.Z. v. Clinton (132 S. Ct. 1421 (2012)). (Prior firm)
- Working with the Legal Aid Society, pro bono, to secure funding for Disaster-Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program applicants affected by Superstorm Sandy. (Prior firm)
Mr. Hudson is a member of The Sedona Conference and LeGaL, the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York. He has been recognized by the Legal Aid Society, twice over, for his pro bono work.
Mr. Hudson currently sits as a Governor of the Yale Broadcasting Company, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to providing outstanding student and community radio broadcasting to the New Haven, CT, and Yale University communities. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hudson was the Voice of the Trenton Devils, which was at the time the New Jersey Devils’ “AA” minor league hockey affiliate.
