BLAINE FINLEY joined Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca’s Washington, D.C. office in 2016. His practice focuses on plaintiff-side antitrust class action litigation. Mr. Finley’s experience includes appearances in various federal court hearings and substantial deposition practice, including taking and defending expert witness depositions. At CGL, Mr. Finley has been extremely active in prosecuting a variety of actions alleging price-fixing and related horizontal conduct in markets for food products. His work at the firm includes the following representations:
- In re: Packaged Seafood Products Antitrust Litigation, MDL 2670, in which CGL represents commercial food preparer purchasers in a class action lawsuit alleging the existence of a price-fixing conspiracy to artificially inflate prices for packaged tuna products. The Court has issued an order granting class certification, which is currently on appeal.
- In re: Pork Antitrust Litigation, Case No. 18-01776, in which CGL has been appointed by the Court to represent a putative class of commercial and institutional indirect purchasers in a lawsuit alleging the existence of a price-fixing conspiracy to artificially inflate prices for pork.
- Prime Steakhouse v. Mowi ASA, et al., Case No. 20-21463 and Portland Hunt-Alpine Club LLC v. Mowi ASA, et al., Case No. 20-21509, in which CGL has filed complaints alleging the existence of a price-fixing conspiracy in the market for farm-raised salmon on behalf of businesses seeking to represent classes of commercial and institutional indirect purchasers.
- Sandee’s Catering v. Agri Stats, Inc., et al., Case No. 20-02295, in which CGL has filed a complaint alleging the existence of a price-fixing conspiracy in the market for turkey on behalf of a business seeking to represent classes of commercial and institutional indirect purchasers.
Prior to joining CGL, Mr. Finley worked at a law firm in New York, where his practice included plaintiff-side securities class action and shareholder litigation. Among other matters, Mr. Finley worked on In re: Merck & Co., Inc. Vioxx Securities Litigation, MDL 1658.
