Lissa Morgans joined Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca’s Washington DC Office in 2023. She focuses on antitrust litigation.
Before joining CGL, Lissa was an assistant public defender for the State of Alaska. As a public defender, she helped hundreds of clients navigate the criminal justice system. She handled all aspects of her cases, routinely litigating motions and representing her clients in court proceedings. She also has experience examining expert witnesses, eyewitnesses, and police officers. Passionate about alternative justice programs, she represented the public defender agency in Anchorage’s therapeutic court program.
Lissa also served as a law clerk for Judge W. Earl Britt at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina and as a pro se law clerk for the court at large. During her clerkship, Judge Britt presided over five mass tort jury trials. Experiencing those trials encouraged her to pursue trial work, specifically plaintiffs’ work addressing American consumerism and corporate wrongdoings. Lissa also served as a term staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Lissa graduated from the George Washington University Law School where she served as the Senior Articles Editor for the Federal Communications Law Journal. Lissa was also a member of the Moot Court Board and Alternative Dispute Resolutions Board. She received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for completing over 100 hours of pro bono legal work her 2L year. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia where she double majored in History and American Studies, with a focus on the American Civil War.
